Date: 10th July 2016
Now then you lovely people, here are the details for the wonderful Steamy picnic trip to the glorious Lake District. This trip will be a wonderful wander through the Victorian age’s legacy in South Lakes.
A pleasant charabanc trip to the wonderous Lakeland Motor Museum and café. We spend some time there admiring the polished beauty then board the steam train for a 20-minute trip back in time to the charming village of Lakeside where we will board the cross-lake steamer, our destination Bowness-On-Windermere. We shall promenade into the lakeside park and enjoy our picnic – weather permitting (remember this will be summer in the Lake District).
You are welcome to spend some time wandering around the delights of Bowness, Beatrix Potter shop, the sights and photograph to your hearts content – and at least one group photo. We must gather again to return to our doughty ship at 4pm sharp, a delightful trip back across the water to Lakeside where we’ll join the 4:50pm train and will be returning to the railhead for dispersal and return home, sated, tired, weary but, hopefully, happy.
